This blog is run by Sasha (Kelly) Dailey, a disabled nerd who works with a service dog named Serena. Sasha is a lifelong learner and mega nerd. When Sasha isn’t busy at work, they’re reading various book genres such as gothic, horror, fantasy, manga, manwha, graphic novels, or supernatural romance novels. A fan of the X-men, growing up their favorite hero Wolverine became further relatable after becoming bionic in 2002 (but sadly without such an excellent healing factor). A fan of the cute as well as the macabre, they’re a goth at heart with overtones of love and peace. Also a living, breathing example of what happens when someone from Texas, meets someone from Arizona, and has a child in California, they are known to use my dude, as well as y’all in everyday conversation non-ironically as well as various colloquialisms from said family.
Tackling disability with what works for now, they go about life silent raving almost everyday as part of physical therapy, lifting light weights, using complimentary and alternative medicine in conjunction with mainstream medicine and use horticultural and art therapy in their private life. Their service dog Serena is a chocolate lab mix who provides neurological early warning alerts, assists in finding a place to sit down, retrieval during flares and emergency, as well as providing bracing and counterbalance mobility support.
